I’ve been no contact for some time now and recently got messages from my mother and wanted to share my reflections. The messages were screenshots of bible verses and MLK quotes about forgiveness. First, it’s taken me years to have this kind of breakthrough, listening to this show and going to therapy has really helped to get to a place I can even choose to read those messages and feel indifferent, from someone who used to have panic attacks at the sight of her caller/message ID showing up on my phone. Second and perhaps more importantly, her messages did help me reason through a long standing problem I have with how so called “Christians” use/treat forgiveness and the bible to manipulate others.

Jesus’ sacrifice seems to serve as their perpetual scapegoat which they use to excuse themselves from changing bad behaviour and anyone who doesn’t partake in an endless cycle of excusing this so everyone can return to business as usual is labelled as “vengeful, filled with hatred, not...

I was wrong for accepting free stuff from the Government. Im cancelling my food stamps and disability on Monday. Then I will be disqualified for the Public Housing im in. I will then be able to close Social Services from investigating my life. Once I have nothing coming to me for free, I will find solutions rather than excuses. Id have cancelled online or over the phone now, but they’re closed til Monday.

This came from listening to Stefan’s January 24th show, just now. Rather than analyizing demographics and crime rates and attempting to hit on women in a community that disparages me, now I will have a Principled way to move forward.

At the time, I didnt even want disability, My Mother everyday like 6 years ago would corner me emotionally telling me to apply for disability every day. My parents have been out of my life for two ...
