I've remastered my appearance at The Next Web Europe Conference - April 25th, 2014!
Historically, politicians have always fought for the power to create money out of thin air, so they can increase their spending without having to directly increase taxes. The staggering growth of political power throughout the twentieth century -- the century of war -- was largely made possible by replacing money limited by gold with paper currencies, which can be printed at will by government-controlled banks.
Cryptocurrencies are the first self-limiting monetary systems in the history of mankind, and could be our greatest chance to check the growth of political power since the Magna Carta. Join Stefan Molyneux, the host of Freedomain Radio - the most popular philosophy show in the world - as he reveals the hidden political and military power of government currencies, and shows how cryptocurrencies could be greatest revolution in human history, and the foundation of a truly free and prosperous planet.

Stefan Molyneux answers listener questions from X, examining the relationship between objective and subjective truths, asserting that objectivity is tied to human consciousness. He discusses Universally Preferable Behavior (UPB), critiques moral arguments for God's existence, and addresses practical issues like divorce and inheritance. Molyneux highlights the dangers of nihilism, calls for active moral engagement, and concludes that value is subjective and individual responsibility is crucial. He emphasizes the need for proactive philosophical inquiry to combat moral decay in society.

When I look at content from or including Greta, I feel sorrow. She is 22, and an adult now, but when she was an adolescent she was clearly used as a pawn for others virtue signalling. Which is certainly carrying over into her young adult life. It reminds me of the innate will of people, the young, to do good in the world. Tragically, so often the young are manipulated to do the opposite. An incredibly sad trajedy.

Stefan Molyneux explore the complexities of mental health, challenging the prevalent notion that conditions like depression are merely a result of chemical imbalances in the brain. Reflecting on his 2011 lecture, he discusses the heavy reliance on SSRIs by a significant portion of the American population and the lack of compelling evidence supporting the chemical imbalance theory. He raises important questions about personal responsibility in mental health and the societal tendency to attribute unhappiness to biochemical causes rather than examining deeper moral and psychological factors. Emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and moral clarity, he advocates for a more nuanced understanding of emotional struggles that goes beyond quick pharmaceutical fixes. Ultimately, he encourages listeners to embrace personal accountability and confront uncomfortable truths to foster genuine growth and fulfillment.
