Kids and Santa!?!
If you're still doing the philosophers series, could you please think about doing Marcus Aurelius, I read Meditations would like your view on it and him.
How come someone like Matthew Perry didn't get better after years spent in therapy? Did he choose "YES men" type therapists? Was it because he refused to put responsibility on his mother and defended her? Was the damage done in his infancy by the medication he received irreversible?
What's up with people who won't clean up after themselves? I don't mean occasional dirty dish which you'll wash a little bit later, but rather... more personal stuff.
Were they raised badly, are naturally messy or just passive aggressive especially when they were already told about that kind of stuff?
How would you define a virtuous person? Or what virtues make someone lovable?
I'm aware of your definition of love, but If I search for definitions of virtue online, I sometimes find things that could also apply to evil people - hard working, loyal, tolerant, creative etc.
What do you think of parents whose closest approximation of an apology for past imperfections (ACE ~2) is just doing their best to treat you much better in the present? Not just avoiding continuing abuse, but going out of their way to do nice things for the adult offspring. In the case in question (not me or my parents), there is no expectation of future care from the adult offspring because they live in different countries with no expectation of them ever being able to be together again. The parents live in an inaccessible / closed off country.
The parents are probably too proud to give a direct acknowledgment of past abuse, but now actually listen to their child about growing virtue, and are slowly doing so in minor ways. It doesn't seem likely the parents will ever grow enough virtue to ever get to the full and direct repentance.
What are your thoughts on the parents? What are your thoughts on granting forgiveness even if not directly asked for?
Hey stef, my friend's mom moved away to a different state when he was 7.
He is morbidly obese and lives an extremely sedentary lifestyle. Recently she bought him a PS5. I feel this is enabling his awful lifestyle, do you think it is ?
How do you handle those tender moments when your child realizes their mortality? Those moments when they express to you their fear of dying? Handling this with an 11yr old right now, but all my children have had moments of fear surrounding this topic.
My daughter (15 years old) is having a hard time finding friends. All the home school kids we’ve met have gone woke and on the gender train.
So the question is how to find other teenagers with rational mindset?
My daughter who’s 13 has a question. “How can I simplify my theories so that other people can understand me?”
Do you have any debates scheduled? Any debate you've had where the other person made compelling arguments? The debates I've watched you in were very lopsided in your favor. I want to see you against suitable competitors
Yo Stef! What’s the obsession across the political spectrum of whether someone has been jabbed or not? This extends from conservatives to libertarians and leftists also..thank you as always mr molynuex.

Steve Kornacki's post: https://x.com/SteveKornacki/status/1965032049808654515
Philosopher Stefan Molyneux reviews a series of posts on X from Steve Kornacki on contemporary views on success among Generation Z, emphasizing the differing priorities influenced by gender and political affiliations. Steve Kornacki discusses how Trump-supporting men equate success with familial responsibilities and having children, while Harris-supporting women prioritize career fulfillment and financial independence. Stefan examines the implications of these differing definitions, noting how a self-oriented perspective may lead to emotional instability, particularly for women distancing themselves from traditional roles. The discussion also highlights the psychological impacts of prioritizing individualism over familial connections, advocating for the nurturing of family ties as a path to emotional well-being and stability. Kornacki concludes by urging listeners to reflect on their personal definitions of success in ...
