Stef, I genuinely appreciate your work and have learned a great deal from you over the years. But I have to push back on one recurring point: your criticism of Christianity based on the behavior of a subset of American Christians. When you say “Christians do X” without specifying which Christians, you end up implying that the entire global Christian world shares the same practices and moral failures. That simply isn’t true.
I grew up Catholic, with deep exposure to Christian communities in Croatia, Germany, and Switzerland. And I can tell you with absolute certainty: no one in these cultures defends hitting children, let alone beating them with belts. It’s not taught, not accepted, not normalized. These are some of the most loving, warm, and family-oriented Christian communities you’ll ever meet. What certain Americans do with their religion—often twisting it into something authoritarian or fanatical—has nothing to do with the Christianity lived by millions of believers elsewhere.
What frustrates me is the implicit assumption that America is the default lens for understanding Christianity as a whole. It’s a form of intellectual provincialism that I’m surprised to see from you. Christianity is a global religion with countless cultures, histories, and expressions. Reducing it to what you see on X or in the American South is like judging all philosophy by the worst YouTube gurus.
Christianity is already under constant attack; it doesn’t need to be mischaracterized by someone who prides himself on rational analysis. Criticize American fundamentalists as much as you want—but don’t universalize their behavior and call it “Christianity.” That conclusion is simply wrong for vast parts of the world.

Stefan Molyneux addresses a recurring question from listeners:
"Is it against UPB to preemptively attack? Someone is at the border of your property with a gun or troops are amassing at a border. Is it moral to attack them first? How far in advance are you able to act and still be moral?"
